Michael grew up in a small town in Indiana and began doing stand-up in Chicago after his parents moved the family to the suburbs during his formative years. Drew Hunt of
The Chicago Reader writes about Michael’s stand-up, “In a lot of ways, he represents the ideal antidote to the sort of unbridled cynicism that pervades much of contemporary stand-up.”
The Guardian writes, “In stand up, there is the writing, and then there is the performing. This guy nails both… clean, clever, dark and, most importantly, funny.” As a clean comedian, he has racked up multiple late night credits with appearances on

Additionally, he was a Top 5 Finalist on the last season of
Last Comic Standing after eliminating Taylor Tomlinson in a head-to-head stand-up competition where one judge claimed, “My first impression of Michael was a great likability. This is a guy that could star in a sitcom.” Michael currently resides in California and is a dad. Every Monday night he records a podcast after his kid goes to sleep. It is called
